Scientific software · ADELEv2017

Age determination for a changing environment.

Model the dose a grain accumulates over time. ADELEv2017 supports luminescence and electron spin resonance (ESR) dating, including changing moisture, burial depth and radioactive disequilibria.

ADELEv2017

From sample data to an age estimate.

ADELE compares the calculated dose accumulated by a grain with its measured palaeodose. Standard and Expert modes support different levels of modelling detail.

01

Describe the sample

Enter palaeodose, grain properties, radionuclide content and environmental parameters.

02

Represent change over time

Use Expert mode to model changing moisture and burial depth, layered deposits and disequilibria in the uranium-238 decay series.

03

Inspect and document results

Review age estimates, dose-rate contributions and graphs. Save inputs and results together in .adx files and print reports.
